sometimes my heart
bleeds memories
onto cold linoleum:

raw nostalgia turned
scarlet,
splashed against ivory tiles.

it comes without warning
and by then,
it’s always too late.
i don’t need you to help me
clean up the mess i’ve made;

but oh, how i wish i had
someone
to help me stop the bleeding.
